Ready or Not, Here We Are!

Well, I've been able to snag a few PRECIOUS minutes to update this blog with a little more content and a few pictures : ) If you were wondering, I've enabled my phone to update the blog with a text message, so that's why the updates were so short. I have and will be passing my phone around to have students update with where they are, what they're doing, or maybe a nice shout out to mom!

It's a GLORIOUS day down here at camp and we are buzzing with anticipation as we await the campers' arrival @ 1:30. We have pretty much been in meetings since we've been here, going over safety, schedule, and procedures, as well as assigning and going over specific tasks that we will have throughout the week.

As I type, Grace, Allison, and Ashley are in the kitchen getting ready for lunch as the rest of our team gets some down time before we eat and the craziness begins. We had a GREAT time last night sitting around the campfire and enjoying some s'mores (Connor prefers his with a more, um, "charcoal" flavor), as well as sharing and working on songs like "River of Life", "I Am a 'C'" and "Fruit of the Spirit" (I think we made up about 5 or 6 new fruit verses).

Students are truly excited, but in the same way, a little nervous. But I think it's a good nervous. They're nervous because they don't know what's coming. And as much as the meetings and the prepping helped, there's no way to know what it will be like when we have 64 campers descend upon camp and our students come face to face with Jesus. As a leader, I can't wait to see our students (YOUR students) SHINE for Jesus as they love the campers and serve with an open heart.

You can be praying for health for everyone here, the weather (as most of camp is outside), the hearts of our students to be broken for the campers and open to what Jesus will be doing in their lives this week, and finally a willingness to serve and be used WHEREVER and HOWEVER they are asked. Some of the jobs they get might not be the most glamorous, but we are ALL a team here and if we're working together, it's going to be an AMAZING week. Pray for us! And as you're praying, check out some pictures!

Thanks for praying!

- Josh and the whole Echoing Hills Team
